Founders' note
Two girls who loved history turned to each other one afternoon in the middle of a busy MRT station. Christy wanted to help out fellow students suffering through the same onslaught of content she faced, and Ashlyn was sick of only seeing women appear as a brief tag on at the end of her notes. They put their heads together, remembered iconic lines from the wonderful SIX: the musical, and Herstory was born.
Herstory is a one-stop platform for IB HL History students, from IB HL History students. All our notes are written and compiled by the team, with the IB exam structure and ease of studying in mind. Our Women's Spotlight is here for those passionate about learning beyond the syllabus, and those curious about women's voices, perspectives, and many contributions throughout herstory!

Christy Su – Co-Founder
I’m Christy from 6.07, co-founder of Herstory. While I’m not writing notes for the website, I love performing with my band Six Avenue or singing any musical theatre ballad. My favourite historical fact is that a man saved 6000 Jews with just his handwriting!
Ashlyn Gani – Co-founder
I’m Ashlyn Gani from 6.17, co-founder of Herstory. I love writing, theatre, and making people laugh :)) You will always find me doodling away, or going down rabbit holes and reading random research papers at 2 am.

Alicia Lau –
Y6 Resource Director
I’m Alicia Lau from 6.07, the Y6 Resource Director of Herstory. In my free time, I enjoy Asian horror movies and learning about war history! My favourite type of History to study is Chinese specifically, specifically the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Cassandra Ong –
Y5 Resource Director
Hi, I’m Cassandra from 6.07, the Y5 resource director and I work with Herstory to provide history notes! I love arts and humanities, and I like to take nature walks:) fun fact: I'm doing my History IA on women’s fashion 🥰
Jerome Ong –
Communications director
Hi! I’m Jerome Ong from 6.17. I'm the comms director for Herstory. I like playing football and video games, and one fun fact about me is that I LOVE dogs but I’m allergic to them (I still pet them anyways). My favourite history field is the Ancient Rome and anything related to food culture.
